BSc Hons Physiotherapy, PGCert Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound:
James is the Service Development Director and a Senior Physiotherapist at the Sheffield Climbing Clinic. He qualified from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy in 2009. After qualifying, James quickly specialized in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has worked in both the NHS and the private sector. He has a PGCert in Medical Ultrasound attained from the University of Derby meaning he is able to perform diagnostic ultrasound scans at the clinic. In his spare time James is a keen climber, climbing at the indoor walls in Sheffield as well as the Peak District on a regular basis. He has a specialist interest in treating climbing injuries and treats climbers on an almost daily basis at the clinic as well as consulting with climbers remotely all around the world.
This level 2 continuing education course is for clinicians to gain confidence in assessing, diagnosing and treating rock climbing finger injuries with diagnostic ultrasound. You will again access to the level 1 online course that includes 3 hours of pre-recorded lectures, associated articles, and learning assessments. You will then meet for the level 2 component of the course, a 4 hour live session to problem solve rock climbing patient cases with live ultrasound demonstrations. It is recommended that you have access to an ultrasound unit before taking this course.
